The Cotton Lakeview Cemetery lies Southeast of Cotton. It is a beautiful, serene, wooded hillside area which at one time overlooked Kauppi Lake. The oldest known gravesite is that of Victor Soderlund, dated 1903. It was said that Victor's mother was terribly ill and expected to die, her husband and son Victor walked to the top of the hill on their property and under a pine which overlooked the lake was the spot where the chose to bury her. In the meantime, Victor himself got sick and died, he was then buried in the spot that had been chosen for his mother.
The Soderlund family donated this piece of property to the Town of Cotton and the Cotton Lakeview Cemetery was then established.
